Responsibilities
As the Technical Data Lead you will be working closely with internal stakeholders to implement new technology and strategies to leverage data across the business. You will help develop the vision on how data and metrics can support nomos ongoing growth, whilst also providing expert advice and best practices in data life-cycle management.
You will be experienced in leading technical team members to design, manage, and support the data infrastructure, alongside implementing principles and processes to ensure that the platform remains highly automated, self-servicing and able to scale as we continue to grow.
The successful candidate will need to be highly technical, follow a hands-on approach, and have extensive experience managing and analysing data.
Requirements
Key Experience
Developing and implementing procedures for secure and effective data management
Implementing data definitions, data mappings and providing support across ongoing integration activities
Working collaboratively with software engineering teams to understand and define application and platform data requirements
Have an in-depth understanding of database structures and principles
Developing data management initiatives to drive strategic value
Experience troubleshooting application and data platform related incidents through to resolution
Have an analytical mindset with great problem-solving skills
Providing recommendations on data architecture and process improvements on an ongoing basis
Extensive experience working with and developing continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) environments
Be an advocate for the work done by the team and share achievements both at a technical and business level with the wider technology group
Being able to translate non-technical requirements to technical requirements
Have great communication skills, a passion to mentor, develop and lead the team
Lead experience
Required Technical Knowledge:
Good working knowledge of AWS data analytics services (Kinesis, Redshift, Quicksight)
Extensive hands-on experience working with AWS DynamoDB
Experience working with AWS Athena
Experience with scripting languages such as Python
Familiar working with Gitlab CI/CD to support the deployment of applications across cloud infrastructure
Good working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
Familiar with serverless, event-driven technology such as AWS Lambda
Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiar working with cloud log management and monitoring data platforms
The ability and appetite to learn and use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
